Create a School Wellness Council at Your School!
A School Wellness Council is a group of families, students, school staff, and community members who work together and with the school administration to promote a healthy school community. The NYC DOE Wellness Policy encourages all schools to have a School Wellness Council. To stay up to date with wellness related announcements and updates, please sign up for School Wellness Weekly and email the School Wellness Council Team with any questions. In addition, access more information via the School Wellness Portal, and if you would like to attend a training on starting or expand your School Wellness Council, please sign up for an in-person professional development workshop by browsing the Office of School Wellness Programs' Professional Learning Catalog. First time schools receive a $2500 grant. and returning schools receive $1000!
