Hi team,
There is a lot of dialogue happening now around chocolate milk because of the story I wrote and others focused on whether sugar-sweetened beverages should be in schools.
If this is an issue that speaks to you, please consider sending an email to DOE and Office of Food and Nutrition Services. You can email both Chris Tricarico CTricar@schools.nyc.gov and Stephen O'Brien, SOBrien@schools.nyc.gov.
You can also request that your school stop serving milk by sending a formal request to your principal. Here are letters and posters provided by the Department of Health. (Yes, the DOH wants it out of schools too.)
DOE also serves juice, which is not recommended for children either. Feel free to ask for that to be removed as well!
Please share this post with your school PTAs and on social media.
Andrea
